2018 Spring Home Trends

Mark your calendars for March 20 as the official first day of Spring! While we wait for the warmer weather outside, take a look at what’s heating up inside with home décor!

Forget pastels, House Beautiful has dubbed lavender as the new millennial pink. Take advantage of the trend by incorporating lavender florals in your bedroom for a better night’s sleep. Layer lavender throughout your room with Anthropologie’s perfectly over- dyed vedado rug or sprinkle little accents using candles, notebooks and pillows.

I was really excited about a bouquet of trend options from Country Living this year. The magazine encourages embracing my personal favorite trend in 2018, Wabi-sabithe Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection. Sadly Wabi Sabi won’t give me permission to leave my house a mess and call it trending, but instead means finding appreciation in hand-crafted items vs a cookie-cutter appearance. Wabi-Sabi also helps softens the room when answering the call to mix in natural elements like wood and leather.

Country Living also reminds us Spring isn’t in full bloom without florals! While playing with this pattern, create unique ways to display fresh florals throughout your home. I love how this chic and classic white pillow subtly incorporates the trend while the farmhouse floral box and penny floral pillow are loud and clear.

One of my go-to places for finds—like almost every woman ever – is Target (especially right now while they’re doing free home shipping & 30 percent off). I’m currently swooning over my must-have list from Joanna’s Hearth & Hand With Magnolia line that I plan to treat myself to when my spring cleaning is complete for the ultimate refresh.

  1. Lavender is so pretty and I will definitely try anything to get a good night’s sleep! The Magnolia Line is definitely swoonworthy! This is inspiring me to get ready for spring…maybe I will get on the ball this year and plan ahead for once!

  2. I heard about lavender being the popular new color but for some reason I just can’t get on board with that color. I like fresh lavender flowers, but I just don’t like incorporating too much purple tones – it just doesn’t fit my moods. I’m definitely a fan of natural textures and colors though, so I’ll stick with that and a nice accent other than lavender 🙂
