Sleeping in Style: Easy Bedroom Updates for Better Sleep

Everyone is talking about sleep. It’s official –Sleeping in is IN! Hopefully, unlike most trends, this one is here to stay.

*Target has bed & bath 30 percent off online sale for bed & bath tomorrow 1/19 – 1/20* Just in case you’re ready to jump on these tips and into bed.

Below are three affordable & feasible tips that will leave both you and your space refreshed.

Plants are more than just décor. In adding to bringing zen to your space, plants can help you catch some Zzz’s. There are more than 10 different types of plants that are perfect sleeping partners by emitting more oxygen to help you breathe easy and even filtering toxins from the air.

Sleep’s signature scent is lavender. Studies show that Lavender can decrease heart rate and blood pressure, potentially putting you in a more relaxed state (National Sleep Foundation). You don’t have to add another plant to your space to get the benefits. Whip your pillows with lavender towelettes, spritz spray, wash your sheets with lavender detergent, apply lavender lotion before bed or leave a diffuser in the bedroom.

Good sheets = Good sleep! Although a “controversial topic,” I believe you don’t have to spend a fortune on sheets (Target is having a 30 percent off online sale, right now) to get the benefits of good sleep.  Thread count does count when it comes to comfort but it is not the most important factor. Find the right sheets for you and care for them as instructed. This will ensure you sustain a consistent comfort and will leave your sheets smelling fresh, which is also shown to improve sleep.

Check out these sheets I’m dreaming of below… (see links below)

Macy’s, Marimekko, Gilt, Belle Epoque and Target

Sleep well!

  1. I had heard of using lavender to help with sleep before, but never heard of the tip to incorporate plants for relaxation – might have to give that a try! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  2. Ughhh sleep is one thing I need to be better about! (There are just too many fun things to do so I never get enough sleep!) I’ve heard lavender is good for sleep, and I’ve got a spritzer of lavender scent that comes with me on long trips if I’m worried I won’t sleep well in a hotel 🙂
